Arnab Datta, MD
Arnab Datta, MD, started his private practice in New York City for patients who need more than a brief medication visit. His work combines psychiatry, psychotherapy, addiction treatment, controlled-substance expertise, Suboxone care, couples and family work, EMDR, and meditation-informed treatment.
Patients often come here when previous care has felt incomplete. Sometimes the medication plan never fully made sense. Sometimes the diagnosis did not capture the person’s real story. Sometimes therapy stayed too general, while the deeper pattern remained untouched. Dr. Datta’s role is to understand the full picture, symptoms, history, relationships, medication, addiction, personality, and emotional blind spots, so treatment can be directed with more clarity.
The practice began in Manhattan and remains anchored in a New York City level of psychiatric judgment. The main office is located on East 44th Street and 5th Avenue, near Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, and Bryant Park.
Dr. Datta is also licensed to provide care in select markets beyond New York, including Chicago (where he currently resides), Miami, Downtown Los Angeles, New Jersey, and North Carolina (where he used to live). Depending on location and clinical fit, appointments may be available in person or by secure video.
To begin, call +1 877-376-4560. A discovery call allows you to share what is bringing you in, ask initial questions, and hear whether Dr. Datta’s practice may be the right fit before beginning treatment.
Discovery Call
Before beginning care, potential patients are scheduled for a discovery call. This is a short preliminary conversation where you can explain what is bringing you in, ask initial questions, and hear whether Dr. Datta’s practice may be the right fit.
Although it is brief, the discovery call can often provide an early sense of how Dr. Datta thinks clinically. Patients may discuss medication concerns, addiction patterns, depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, trauma, or a major life decision. The goal is to begin understanding not only the immediate concern, but also what may be driving it underneath the surface.
The discovery call is not a full psychiatric evaluation and does not replace treatment. It helps clarify what Dr. Datta can and cannot provide before the first appointment. For patients who move forward, care often begins with a three-appointment starting package, allowing enough time to understand the full picture and the likely direction of treatment.
