- Meditation/EMDR: The secret to healing psychologically and emotionally is the combination of psychotherapy and meditation. What most people don’t know is that going to a therapist and talking about your issues is half the battle. The other half of the battle is going home and practicing what was taught in the therapy session, along with meditations to let go of one’s self-sabotaging habits. Psychotherapy and meditation in combination are the secret to changing behavior and character for the better. In therapy, issues are discussed and re-framed. Meditation, when practiced daily, internalizes these changes; this takes practice and is easier said than done. EMDR is added to treat trauma and release it during meditation. Through meditation, you can let go (or surrender) of that pain and change yourself for the better. Mental health is improved when both psychotherapy and meditation are used together. Psychotherapy helps reframe issues and in time, it becomes second nature. Over time, meditation helps integrate these psychotherapeutic intellectualization and discussions into the heart.
Dr. Datta provides EMDR to help people let go of their bad memories, bad habits and traumas. EMDR mimics REM sleep, which is the path into the unconscious mind. Where negative experiences and traumas can be released and new life lessons learned. Dr. Datta is also a psychopharmacologist and a controlled substance specialist who can utilize medications to make this change happen faster. However, if the goal is to strengthen your character and your emotions, then the medications are discontinued. However, the medication is continued for certain patients who need to be on it. .

How long does it take for any human being to understand another? It can take time sometimes. However, this is dependent on how open the potential patient is to talking about their issues. It’s also dependent on the skill level of the psychiatrist or therapist. This is dependent on how much of an unconscious vision the provider has.
